Where Do You Get YOUR Protein?

“Where do you get your protein?”, is probably one of the most asked questions when you become vegan. It seems there is a common misconception that being vegan, can be unhealthy, which is entirely illogical but let’s not get into that right now, for today, I am going to be sharing with you the vegan options from ProToGo.

ProToGo is a protein company, provided prepped meals for your convenience, rammed full of protein. They are not a vegan brand; however, they have vegan options which do not disappoint and they are scrumptious and obviously packed full of proper protein.

Let me start by saying the portion sizes are generous, at first, I thought it was no match for the piglet, as I am used to inhaling food at quite a rapid pace, however, the falafel salad was filling and with 21 grams of protein in one serving, it really was a meal for champions, especially with only 307 calories per bowl. It also smelt incredible, which is not something I would usually say about food but it this case, it needs to be mentioned, as it smelt wonderful!

Now, as for the Green Shake, which consists of kiwi, avocado, mint and pear, with some chia seeds and sunflower seeds thrown in, tastes like something every person should drink on their way to their workout. I really loved the mint taste, it’s subtle but an ingenious combination, with the fruits. This shake alone packs a mighty 10.1 grams of protein. It is tasty and healthy, which is obviously what we aim for in the vegan world!

I also had a pasta dish, which was super filling with mung beans and spinach and really addictive to eat, it had just the right amount of flavour, that meant the richness of the taste didn’t over balance the pasta and make it bloating, it was really nice and would make a great lunch, especially if you are wanting to keep an eye on your protein gains.

The chocolate pot made from cacao and peanut butter, with zoats, was a delight, it tasted so good, this was something I really could see myself having for breakfast every morning, it comes with 11 grams of protein in store and with only 190 calories, you can’t go wrong, it is simply delicious, this must be tried by all. Especially if you are a peanut butter admirer, like me.

All in all, I am very impressed, I like the way it is packaged and gives you a clear guide of what protein you are getting from each meal, it really is worthwhile checking these guys out and having a go. Not only does the food come prepped to your door, you can choose what it is you want to eat, the vegan range is not massive now but it is big enough to keep you going. If you want any information on the food or how to get your hands on it, then go over to their website and check it out for yourself.
