BWT Brilliance

BWT were kind enough to send me their water jug to try out, in a gorgeous bright green colour, that is ideal for summer. It comes with a double filtering cartridge which filters tap water and mineralises it with magnesium, as much as 40mg of magnesium per litre of water. The activated carbon granules act like magnets, attracting chlorine and other organic matter.

I really love the fun design of the jug, it is perfect for the Summer, with its bright colour lid and because it can hold up to 2.7 litres of water, it is ideal to ensure that you are remaining hydrated throughout the Summer. It looks wonderful in the middle of the table for dinner also.

There is a digital display on the lid of the jug which counts the number of fillings, as well as advising you of the lifespan left, which has a flashing indicator to remind you when it is time to change the filter, which is handy because if like me you don’t want to be tasked with keeping track of when the filter went in or how long to go, then this does the job for you. I just check mine every time I refill it.

When it comes to flavouring the water, I would recommend putting the fruit/flavourings, in the bottom of the jug (after the filtration process), to prevent any blockages through the filtration system.

As mentioned in my previous blog regarding hydration, I prefer to drink water that is free from fluoride and chlorine, the BWT jug does filter out chlorine, but unfortunately does not filter out fluoride, so I have been using fluoride free bottled water and filtering it through the jug and I really like the difference, the jug is still filtering the water and adding the magnesium to it, it also gives it an all-round more softer finish, which for me is great. If fluoride is not an issue for you and not something you would necessarily require filtered out of your water, then this jug would work perfectly for you, as a great addition to the fridge!
